Champagne cocktails, Oscar parties, Morrissey Mondays and free art—sounds pretty rad, right? Here are the details:

1. The history buffs at Blind Tiger Cocktail Co. have been researching champagne cocktails to accompany the upcoming live performance by songstress Linnzi Zaorski at 7:30 and 9:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Vin de Syrah (901 Fifth Ave., Downtown). Zaorski specializes in Depression-era swing, so, in keeping with the throwback theme, Blind Tiger will serve a trio of champagne cocktails inspired by those first mixed 150 years ago.

2. There’s a longer roundup of Oscar parties online here but here’s a quick cheat sheet: The Tilted Kilt (1640 Camino Del Rio N. in Mission Valley) will show the Academy Awards on its screens and offer $3 beer and $5 cocktails. And Cinema Under the Stars (4040 Goldfinch St. in Mission Hills) has a fun Oscar party planned. The outdoor movie theater will offer free champagne and food by Lefty’s Pizzeria and Brooklyn Girl. Guests are strongly encouraged to get glitzed up and glammed out for the $25 soirée.

3. Every Monday night at Riviera Supper Club & Turquoise Room (7777 University Ave. in La Mesa), piano man Kevin Cavanaugh serenades the crowd with songs like “Frankly, Mr. Shankly,” “Girlfriend in a Coma” and other selections from his ever-expanding repertoire of tunes by Morrissey and The Smiths. Cavanaugh’s weekly Morrissey Mondays kicks off at around 7 p.m.

4. San Diego painter Greg Holden Regan is the next artist in line for Feb. 22's Free Art Wednesday at Quality Social (789 Sixth Ave., Downtown). His abstract work will be on view, and one piece will be raffled off. On Saturday, Feb. 25, Quality Social will launch its new live-art program—Andrea Welton will create a painting protesting the removal of the “Unconditional Surrender” sculpture (the sailor kissing the nurse) on San Diego’s waterfront.
