Sometimes, under the fog of vodka and strobe lights, we come up with ideas that we swear are absolute genius. Like my friend Ramon's idea for a leftover-food swap, where you tell people online what restaurant leftovers you have and see if someone wants to trade for different leftovers.
Speaking of unusual gifts, ever heard of someone beat-boxing while playing the cello to create dope-dancey beats? Sounds crazy, but it's true. Head to Analog (801 Fifth Ave., Downtown) on Friday, Sept. 21, to check out Cello Joe, who's touted on Analog's website as "the baddest beat boxing cellist around." This may be a "you have to see it to believe it" situation.
Sometimes it's not great/ stupid ideas we come up with while drunk. Sometimes we just say things we hope to never remember. For that kind of night, head to El Dorado (1030 Broadway, Downtown) on Saturday, Sept. 22, for Dirty Talk. DJs Gabe Vega, Adam Salter and Huge Euge will spin the party jams as you put your foot in your mouth while talking to the babe who's sidled up to the bar. The embarrassment might sting worse than a bad case of herpes, but if you're lucky, you might black out.
