From Chromatics to Frank Ocean, the stuff that’s been driving folks wild

Adam Powell, Adams and Eves: “Frank Lenz, Vacation. I cannot fully express the respect and admiration I have for his quaint, comely, candid symphonies.”

Craig Oliver, Volar Records: “I’ve been keeping up with all the Chromatics stuff that’s been released online the past few months—the yearning romance of late-night drives and the fog of love lost and sought after.”

Maria Cochina, Vaginals: “Probably the music I’ve been hearing the most lately is world music mixed with Western influence: Thai girl groups of the ’60s, funk from Ethiopia, disco from India, Dance Raja Dance, Italian new-wave, metal from Brazil.”

Teenage Burritos: “Prince is God. Kirsten [Gundel] likes Justin Timberlake because she’s obsessed with revenge, so she can’t help but love ‘Cry Me a River’ and ‘What Goes Around Comes Around.’ Rachel [McCarthy-Moya] was conceived at an show in the ’80s. Audacity is earnest rock ’n’ roll that Lucy [Wehrly] just can’t help feeling good listening to. And we lost our virginities to The Stone Roses.”

Mateo Silva, Kava Lounge: “I’m super late to the party, just recently discovered Broadcast. Streaming their whole albums online and I’m sold.”

Dan Faughnder, Sledding with Tigers: “Frank Ocean, Channel Orange. Ugggggghhhhhhhhhhh, it’s sooooo gooooood. Shut up, Frank Ocean. Stop it.”
