It’s time. The Mayan calendar is coming to an end, and we are all going to die on Friday, Dec. 21. Will it be fire that takes us to the great beyond? A catastrophic flood? Or maybe a swarm of locusts with an appetite for flesh? Whatever it is that’s definitely, 100-percent going to signify the end of days, make sure it takes you slurring and heavy with booze-bloat. Here are three parties where you can say goodbye to this cruel world.

Kava Lounge (2812 Kettner Blvd. in Middletown) will welcome the demise of mankind on Thursday, Dec. 20, with Apocalypse, a night of live art and music presented by Liquid Geometry. Get down with some beat music from B. Bravo, Sinjin Hawke, Mike Gao, Sleeve and Mateo Bambaataa. Cutmod will provide the visuals, and Adam Moyes will do live painting. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. End your life with a night of trippy, psychedelic weirdness.

Vin de Syrah (901 Fifth Ave., Downtown) will hold its End of the World party on the day of destruction, Friday, Dec. 21. The bar will serve up Apocalypse Punch, which is hopefully nothing like the punch that the Heaven’s Gate folks sipped before biting the dust. Your first glass is free with an RSVP to vip@syrahwineparlor.com. If you wear an apocalypse-themed costume, you’ll also receive a shot on the house. Watch YouTube clips from Mad Max for inspiration.

Just in case the Mayans were one day off, and the end comes on Saturday, Dec. 22, you can spend your final hours at Brick by Brick (1130 Buenos Ave. in Linda Vista). The Strikers, Pig Life, Coda Reactor and others will throw down live sets, and Hell on Heels Burlesque Revue will do a special, scantily clad appearance. Your final night of fun would also be cheap, at just $5.

The Mayans may take our lives but they’ll never take your freedom to party.
