Sunday, Aug. 25, was a sad day for club rats. Miley Cyrus' poor twerking skills, showcased during her performance on MTV's Video Music Awards, threatened to make the booty-popping dance move epically uncool.

But twerk fiends can reclaim it from the tweenqueen at the Mad Decent Block Party, a touring festival that makes a stop at Petco Park's parking lot (100 Park Blvd. in East Village) from 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.

On the roster is electronic-dancehall super-group Major Lazer, created by twerking's biggest ally, Diplo (who also spearheads the Mad Decent record label), plus Dillon Francis, Big Gigantic, Zeds Dead and a few others.

Zeds Dead—Canadian DJs-Dylan Mamid (aka DC) and Zach Rapp-Rovan (aka Hook)—are known more for their chill beats. When asked by CityBeat if they'll kick it up a bit for a live show, they seemed put off by the question.

"Oh yeah, we have so much planned. So much planned for that party," Mamid said. "I can't really remember right now."

(Dude, sorry to wake you up before 1 p.m.)

"Just too many things to list off," his cohort in beat-making, Rapp-Rovan, added.

After a bit of prodding, the duo said they'll stick to the cooler vibe they're known for, but will definitely throw in a few bangers.

If a parking lot full of half-dressed troublemakers isn't your bag, check out El Dorado Cocktail Lounge's (1030 Broadway) Fall Menu Release Party starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. The party serves as an unveiling for the seasonal cocktail menu concocted by El-D's bartenders. They'll debute five new drinks: the Huck Fizz (gin, lemon, huckleberry syrup, egg white, soda), the Johnny Apple Buck (rye whiskey, apple brandy, black rum, lemon, cinnamon-apple syrup, bitters, ginger beer), the Sassy Frass (bourbon, amaro, sarsaparilla bitters), the Rosie Cheeks (gin, Cocchi Rosa, rhubarb bitters) and the Dixie Cup (white rum, vanilla, egg, cream, orange soda).

To keep your liquor intake in check, Soda & Swine will provide free meatballs to snack on. Cocktails will cost $5 all night.
