Strings, percussion and woodwinds perform on the MTS

What whimsey is this? A symphony on the horseless multi-carriage? What a riot! How absurd to see classically trained musicians deign to perform for the traveling commoners! My, my—they’re not even wearing their concert black, but rather the rags of the underclass! Quite spectacular.

In this episode of A Trolley Show, the San Diego Symphony performs Bach for the lucky commuters. As much as we like the rock musicians who usually perform, we couldn’t be more excited to switch things up with a symphony. Recontextualizing this kind of music by removing it from a concert hall should be done more often.
