Mayoral candidate questions ethics of tweeting and reporting

The world's tiniest violin plays for Bob Filner
During the interview with mayoral candidate Bob Filner for this week's issue of CityBeat, editor David Rolland started to ask the Democrat, delicately, whether certain caustic and unpredictable elements of his personality were a liability.

Rolland specifically pointed to a recent one-question survey circulated to the candidates by that asked for a yes or no position on a controversial plan to change the layout of Balboa Park plus a four-sentence explanation.

Filner refused to answer the question, calling the concise format an "insult."

After Rolland brought it up, Filner went on the offensive against reporters Liam Dillon of Voice and Claire Trageser of San Diego Daily Transcript, questioning their ethics for posts about him they made to Twitter. He claims they essentially called him "a shit."  In our opinion, the posts were fairly innocuous; the worst he was called was "No Answer McGee."

Overall, we thought the whole exchange was hilarious.

We recorded Filner's complaint, captured the Tweets and edited them into this video. Decide for yourself:
