Karl Strauss has a lot to celebrate. Twenty-five years ago, the brewer took a gamble on craft beer largely before the term itself really existed. A quarter of a century later, it's not only alive, but continuing to explore the possibilities that craft brew offers. Strauss should also start to get considerably lower rates on car insurance, which is a plus.

Karl Strauss celebrates this annual milestone with Changing of the Barrels. The event signifies both the release of a barrel-aged, limited-edition anniversary beer and the only chance to taste next year's anniversary beer before it's set to slumber in some manner of wooden enclosure. Unfortunately, this year's anniversary beer yield was impacted by some quality-control issues, so it might be a little hard to come by, but as you'll see, we didn't let that diminish our celebration one iota. Having bottomless samples of beer is a great way to let the healing begin, after all.
