Curtain call

Chew on this: Movie producer Bradley (Eric Poppick) has an open sore on his ass the size of a jumbo shrimp, and it’s about to expand amid his frantic efforts to save a crappy film. He finds himself in the middle of a web of greed and egos in John Patrick Shanley’s Four Dogs and a Bone—and if the ending is any indication, he’ll never survive the upshot. Bradley is a little overdeveloped at the play’s outset, as Poppick leaves little room for the character to grow with the play’s progress. But everybody has fun, and director Joshua Everett Johnson keeps the action just below the farce level, exactly where it belongs.
