La Jolla Playhouse's reading of The Laramie Project—and the rest of the local productions
Can’t keep a good man down: No sooner is he out of a job than Darko Tresnjak goes back to work, this time with his ex-employer’s largest competitor. Tresnjak, who’s leaving The Old Globe Theatre’s artistic directorship at the end of the month, will helm a La Jolla Playhouse reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, an Epiloguef , a look at life in Laramie, Wyo. following the murder of Matthew Shepard. The Oct. 12 event marks the 11th year since Shepard’s vicious beating death and will be held in more than 100 theaters across the U.S. and in six countries. The play features new interviews with Shepard’s mother Judy and with Aaron McKinney, who’s serving two consecutive life sentences in the killing.
