Last night, San Diego suffered what's been called (by me) the deepest, darkest, most pervasive blackout in regional history (though I hear Kinsee Morlan personally has had a few that might qualify).
So, what do you do you in a outage? You drink. You barbecue. You get your mack on. You buy $1 cartons of melty Ben & Jerry's at the corner market. Or, if you're me, you monitor Twitter and watch Obama's jobs speech on your iPhone, then run out to capture the sky, because you may never get this clear a view of it again.
I recently picked up a new camera, a Canon G-12, so I mounted it on a tripod to experiment with long shutter exposures. The product: Some kinda OK palms-and-stars porn, considering it's not an SLR. ---
