After a 10-month stint in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Josh Damigo has moved back to San Diego. He says he's had a great experience making songwriter friends and working with promoters, but the two-time San Diego Music Award winner decided to return mainly after hearing he didn't get nominated for an SDMA this year “because I wasn't considered a ‘San Diego Artist,'” he says in an email. “If I make it big, or if I end up doing covers at weddings, I want to be known as a San Diego musician.” He'll celebrate his return at Claire de Lune on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Hardcore band Retox will celebrate the release of their new album, Ugly Animals, at Porter's Pub at UCSD on Thursday, Sept. 8. Atari Teenage Riot will headline, and Otto Von Schirach will also perform.
